ROBUSTOO at Spanish Network on Biotechnology for Lignocellulosic Biomass

On 28–29 May 2026, project partner CSIC-CIB participated in the Annual Meeting of LIGNOCEL, the Spanish Network on Biotechnology for Lignocellulosic Biomass, held in Miraflores de la Sierra, Madrid.

The event brought together 45 participants from Spanish academia, offering a dedicated space for knowledge exchange among specialists working on the development of new biotechnologies for converting plant biomass, including agricultural and forest residues, into biobased products such as materials, fuels and chemicals.

A contribution entitled "Tailor-made biocatalysts for the sustainable conversion of industrial lignin into added value products" was presented on behalf of our partner, CSIC-CIB, illustrating part of the research currently being carried out within the project.

LIGNOCEL is one of Spain's longest-running scientific networks in this field, with more than 25 years of activity dedicated to consolidating synergies among researchers and companies engaged in the valorization of plant biomass as a renewable raw material.

This participation reinforces ROBUSTOO's active engagement with the broader scientific community and its commitment to disseminating project results across relevant national and European platforms.
